What others have said about Patrick Riecke
Picture

Doug Vogel, Conference Coordinator

In his presentation to a large group of professionals working in all capacities of geriatric care, Rev. Patrick Riecke spoke with wisdom and power regarding the reality of death and dying, and the need for ‘courageous conversations’ between those giving care and those receiving throughout that journey. His meaningful presentation gave us opportunity to laugh, cry, learn, and grow together.

Courtney Webb, healthcare Educator

I had the pleasure of listening to Patrick Riecke speak at a system wide meeting regarding ethical decision making when it comes to our patients. The topic brought to light how this impacts us personally and professionally in our individual units, so we had him present the same material at our unit inservice. Patrick is a dynamic and energetic speaker with the ability to engage a crowd. Days after the inservice, staff members were still taking about making ethical decisions. We look forward to having him speak again to our department.

Craig Traxler, Cardiopulmonary Director

Patrick spoke at our recent Aim High Conference. The audience was mostly respiratory therapists. What an incredible presentation. He took the time to personalize the message to us, inspiring us to know that what we do (help people breathe) was wonderful and holy. Some even had tears in their eyes.
Thank you Patrick for your amazing, inspirational presence!

With a family member in the care of hospice, I was looking for guidance in how to navigate conversations about the final stages of life. I found this book through 300wordsaday.com and gave it a try.

The book hit the mark, with good advice presented in a way that was practical to apply. The 3 stages make sense and align with a faith based approach to dealing with these difficult times.

I am about the enter the chaplaincy and I have to say this book opened my eyes and burst my heart. I have been a pastor for years and have walked with families through about everything but as a chaplain i know this will be my every day ministry. This book shows the heart you must have to enter each family's crisis and how to be an agent of God's peace and love. The principles are a simple guide. The stories help you process your theology and how best to show God's love in any given situation.
